A subset of the main SP200 List, the SP200 Organized Real Estate Leaders list acknowledges staff executives or elected officers of a Realtor association, council, board, et al. MLS organizations and other subsidiaries executives are also included here as the businesses are usually intertwined.


Dale Stinton

Stinton will be remembered as the most impactful leader NAR has seen in its 109-year history. After serving for 24 years in various NAR executive positions, including chief financial officer, Stinton took the helm at NAR in 2005. Slated to retire on Dec. 31, 2017, his 12 years in the CEO’s office will also make him the longest-tenured chief executive in NAR history.

Bob Goldberg

As one of NAR’s most powerful execs, Goldberg has a hand in a broad swath of the association’s initiatives. He heads up business development and strategic investments, professional development and sales and marketing for the trade association. Joel Singer

As long-time California Association of Realtors leader, Singer plays a huge role in the industry, not just as the head of the nation’s largest state Realtor association, which has over 185,000 members, but as a tech pioneer. After becoming CAR CEO in 1989, he helped found CAR-subsidiary zipLogix, maker of the popular form-filling technology zipForm.

Robert "Bob" Hale

Houston Association of Realtors

A charismatic industry leader, Hale heads the Houston Association of Realtors, the second largest Realtor association in the nation with more than 28,000 members. He runs the association and its popular MLS with a market-driven, member-centric focus that has made it a cutting-edge leader and a model for other associations and MLSs.

As president and CEO of NAR’s subsidiary Realtors Property Resources (RPR), Ross runs one of the most compelling, and scrutinized, tech companies in real estate. In 2016, RPR continued its high-profile work on the franchisor- and broker-data management platform Upstream and the MLS technology platform Advanced Multi-List Platform.

Gerald "Jerry" Giovaniello
SVP and Chief Lobbyist

As long-time senior vice president and chief lobbyist at NAR, Giovaniello wields significant influence in the large trade group’s public policy initiatives. He has served as NAR’s chief lobbyist since 2001 and manages the association’s government affairs staff in Washington, D.C. He directly lobbies congress members from California, Washington, Nevada, Hawaii and Oregon.

Gary Simonsen
Canada Real Estate Association

A 32-year real estate veteran, Simonsen represents more than 100,000 Realtors across Canada as head of the Canadian Real Estate Association. He works closely with CREA’s board of directors on management and strategic planning for the association. He announced his pending retirement from CREA effective at the end of 2017.

William "Bill" Brown

Brown, a second-generation Realtor who owns an Oakland, California-based real estate investment firm, is NAR’s 2017 president. He has been a NAR director since 1991 and is a past-president of the California Association of Realtors, the nation’s largest state association.

For the last 15 years, Charron has guided the large Mid-Atlantic MLS Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS), which has more than 46,000 agent members. In 2016, he spearheaded a merger between MRIS and TRENDS MLS to create one of the largest MLSs in the country. David will be serving as the Chief Strategy Officer in Bright MLS, Inc as well as serving as the President elect for CMLS.

Thomas "Tom" Phillips

Phillips helped usher in one of the industry’s hallmark MLS mergers in 2016 between his TREND MLS and the large Mid-Atlantic MLS MRIS. As of January 2017, Phillips will lead the new firm as president and CEO. The new entity, Bright MLS, will have approximately 80,000 members.
