A 38-year industry veteran, Perriello began his career as a Coldwell Banker Real Estate agent in California. He rose from those simple beginnings, holding almost every position in the company, from sales to management, exemplifying leadership and resolve along the way. Perriello has been president and CEO of RFG since 2004, a position in which he manages, as CEO, more of the industry’s brands than any other person in real estate.
As CEO of Realogy Franchise Group (RFG), Perriello has one of the highest profiles in the residential real estate brokerage industry. He is the righthand man of Realogy (NYSE: RLGY) Chairman, CEO and President Richard Smith. Reology’s brands include Coldwell Banker Real Estate and Coldwell Banker Commercial, Century 21 Real Estate, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, ERA Franchise Systems, Sotheby’s International Realty and ZipRealty. Collectively, these brands represent nearly 270,000 agents in 13,650 franchised offices in 111 countries and over 1.4 million annual transactions.
Under Perriello’s steady leadership, RFG had a strong year, adding over $107 million in new franchisee and gross commission income (GCI) through three-quarters of 2016. The almost $300 million in GCI for RFG represents a 28 percent increase from the same date the previous year. The rollout of the Zap web and CRM platform (the brokerage and franchise tech platform Realogy spun out of its 2014 ZipRealty acquisition) is accelerating with over 1,200 franchisees now live on the system.
In 2016, Perriello expanded his team with the addition of franchising veteran and Starwood Hotels exec John Peyton in the new position as president and chief operating officer of Realogy Franchise Group. Outside the world of real estate he wrote the historical novel, “Jacob’s War,” whose proceeds he donated to the Easter Seals Military and Veteran Services.
