Ryan O'Hara

President and CEO, Move, Inc.

Overall Rank: 9
Category: Technology Execs
Category Rank: 2

Since taking the helm of operator Move Inc., in early 2015, O’Hara has hit the ground running. His immediate effect included a significant rebrand of flagship brand, a bold new marketing campaign starring award-winning actress Elizabeth Banks and a digital strategy with fellow News Corp-owned proper- ties such as the Wall Street Journal.

A year later, these efforts are bearing fruit. The campaign’s original five-part series won three coveted “Webby awards” in spring 2016. After overtaking Trulia as the second most popular real estate site in 2015, grew traffic by 65 percent to over 50 million monthly visitors. This is translating into revenue.

O’Hara has proven to be a capable, engaging leader with the smarts and affability to infuse Move with a renewed vigor in the online real estate battle with Zillow Group. Time will tell if O’Hara, and, will be able to keep up with the fast-moving ship that is Zillow Group.

Before joining Move, O’Hara oversaw marketing and technology partnerships at the sports and entertainment firm The Madison Square Garden Company. Previously, O’Hara served as president and CEO of the trading card and consumer products firm The Topps Company, and several executive positions at News Corp companies.
